He cooks.

On Monday night when I got home from work, the hubster was already in the kitchen, cooking away. Oh what a treat! I followed the warm meaty smells to the stove where he had a pot of pork and Vietnamese spinach soup ready to go (perfect for the rainy weather we were starting to get). What is Vietnamese spinach? It is spinach's cousin, a little thicker and a little... slimier. Doesn't that sound tasty? Actually, as a brothy soup on a cold Monday night, it is!

I believe this is pork neck bone boiled for maybe an hour in a pot of water, seasoned with some fish sauce or salt and the spinach tossed in at the end

I got home in time for his second dish... pan-fried eggplant with some vinegar/soy sauce/garlic dressing... tasty. But that was some crazy garlic, babe.

Start off with some Japanese eggplant...

Slice 'em and pan fry 'em...                       Create the soy sauce, rice vinegar, chopped garlic
and a dash of red chili paste (to taste of course)...

And pour the sauce over the eggplant. It's a bit salty, a bit tangy and (in this case) a whole lot of garlic-y and just a hint of spice... I think this would be great hanging out in the patio on a warm summer evening by the grill.
